Officers reported they were notified by a individual who noticed a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Police then located multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police state initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; investigators are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for tips.

A high-ranking official stated the attack made him without words and required to be addressed promptly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the killing of nine people by a gunman focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
